Default Free 1/64 1955 Ford Crown Victoria

OK, not really. But, borrow Mr. Peabody’s Way Back Machine, set the time to 1955, and head to the nearest grocery store. There you will find Grape Nuts Flakes with a free 1/64 scale plastic 1955 Ford. Multiple colors and you could get a Crown Victoria as shown here. Or, a station wagon, two door sedan, convertible, or a slightly larger Thunderbird. Even then, scale fidelity did not exist.

Shown here is a 1955 Ford Crown Victoria I got in Grape Nuts Flakes in 1955. It’s shown with a much more recent 1955 Crown Victoria by Johnny Lightning. Over 60 years difference, models have come a long way.

If you were in a hurry, you just needed to send 25 cents and two box tops for a full set of five. I remember my early days of putting one over on a big corporation. If you carefully tore the bottom "box top" it would pass for a top! One box, two box tops, I was ten, and putting one over on a big corporation!

Hmmm. it starts at a young age for some.....but we soon learn all the tricks. LOL
I did one better. The company that sent the cars didn't care about box tops. They wanted our quarter. I have never sent in a box top,but always got whatever item they were offering. My mom would have killed me if I ripped the box top off of a fresh box of Crunchy Munchies,or whatever.
Toy ray guns, cars, magic decoder rings....all at my fingertips.
Yes,I had mant of the F&F fords, too.I am now 73 and have learned all the tricks.Let me know if you ever need help filing your income taxes. LOL
